I studied the way of researching in JAPN 403, in which the class was preparing senior students for their final capstone research project. We went over a variety of ways to research and find information, both in bulk and in efficiency. In JAPN 404, I learned how to narrow my searches through techniques such as scanning and skimming, to find the information needed.

4.2
|
Through research projects and activities, I learned and practiced with technologies that displayed and utilized Japanese language and culture. Through discussions and activities, I learned which forms of technologies are appropriate and how to apply these technologies to research and study. I needed a lot of assistance from classmates and teachers as I learned how so many online resources contradict each other. Many of these were in regards to unfamiliar terms in Japanese, such as keywords that are specific to my research.

4.3
|
I used a variety of technology based resources, including online newspapers that I would have had to order by phone (if at all possible), utilizing resources to obtain books from libraries not within my immediate reach. I utilized a variety of scholarly resources also available online, where journals and universities publish research and publications from previous studies.
